ABSTRACT

This paper presents an analysis of family systems interactions and networks promoting both the consolidation of family ties, and the bonds these families have with their community (Bronfenbrenner, 1977,1979). The importance of this study has to do with the need to develop a theoretical understanding of contemporary underprivileged family systems and their relations with the communities they belong to. These systems deal with people's everyday activities and concerns, the relationship between public and private activities, and the structural and adaptive changes that may happen within their communities.
