ABSTRACT

This medicinal herb consists of the dried rhizome Polygonatum sibiricum Red., P. kingianum Coll. et. Hemsl., or P. cyrtonema Hua of the family Liliaceae. It grows in the Hebei, Heilongjiang, Henan, Jiangsu, and Shandong provinces, and the Inner Mongolia region of China. Harvested in autumn and dried in the sun, it is sliced for use unprocessed or steamed to an oily state to use as processed polygonatum root.
