ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the use of nonnegotiable chips as an instrument in calculating commissions paid to VIP or international premium players at casinos. The majority of programs operated in Australia and East Asia for premium players are based on turnover and incorporate the use of nonnegotiable chips. Like many industries, casinos reward patrons for visiting their property. The level and type of rewards paid to casino customers can vary greatly depending on the policies of the property, the type of game played, the amount wagered, and the preference of the player.
