ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of legal gaming in Southeast Asia. Its primary aim is to gather a broad range of information from a variety of sources to present an accurate picture of the legal forms of gaming presently taking place in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam (Figure 5.1) and the authority under which it takes place. In each country, research has been undertaken to determine the legality of casino gaming, the types of existing gaming establishments, and the nature and scope of gaming regulation and control, if any.
