America's Drug Problem in the Media: Is It Real or Is It Memorex?

Earlier chapters have established that a plethora of stories about drugs appeared in the U.S. media during 1986. The alarm was sounded. The public, members of Congress, and the Administration all took up arms to renew America's war on drugs-culminating in the Omnibus Drug Bill being passed by the Congress and signed by President Reagan in late 1986.
