ABSTRACT
I remember teaching borrowing in the second grade. It just makes me cringe when I think of it now. They didn’t have to know what they were doing. It was just the mechanics, know the mechanics. This is a nine so you’re going to borrow one so you make it eight. They had no idea what they were doing. It was at you own seat, do your own paper, no copying? dont talk, math was a very quiet time.
