ABSTRACT

Since 1983, the Educational Research Group, of which I am a member, has been deeply involved in a general project for preschool teacher training, with the financial support of the Municipal Authorities of Modena. This project is ongoing, under the direction of a particular expert for each subject area (e.g., P. Guidoni for Science Education, H. Sinclair for Linguistic Education, M. Bussi for Mathematics Education), and involves each teacher of the Municipal preprimary schools (about 150 teachers or 1800 children). About 40 teachers have been attending the Mathematics Education area since 1983. This chapter aims to report the main methodological outcomes of the collective research carried on by the members of the group and the teachers of the municipal preprimary schools of Modena.
