ABSTRACT
The Teacher Education Discussion Group consisted of 20 people who attended all the sessions of the action group. The following countries were represented: United States of America, Australia, United Kingdom, Finland, Japan, Brazil, Israel, Canada. Two presentations were given to the subgroup, one by Bob Perry on behalf of Ogbonna Ohuche and the other by Leone Burton. Six others were distributed as background reading to be read by all participants in the 2 days preceding Days 6 and 7, when a lively and fruitful discussion of the issues for teacher education arising out of these works occurred. Almost all of these are included in this book and reference will be made to them in this chapter where appropriate.
