ABSTRACT
Australia has recently completed a 3-year national project focusing on literacy and numeracy at the early childhood level. Funded through the Commonwealth Schools Commission, the project entitled Basic Learning in Primary Schools (BLIPS) aimed to raise levels of attainment, particularly of target groups of children, through professional development programs and research projects.
