ABSTRACT
The chapters in this section deal with a number of extremely important and debated issues concerning syntactic processing during reading. Among the questions asked in the various chapters, the following are probably the most central: How is a parser structured and what kind of operation principles does it use? Is there an autonomous syntactic processor? Are parsing principles universal?
