ABSTRACT
This chapter presents a brief biography focusing on Walter Kintsch’s scientific contributions to cognitive psychology and cognitive science. It describes the major themes underlying Walter’s research on text comprehension, memory for text, and utilization of information in text. In addition, the chapter characterizes the intellectual context in which he made these contributions.
