ABSTRACT

The Curriculum and Evaluation Standards for School Mathematics (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics [NCTM), 1989) identifies statistics and probability as a major strand across all grade levels. Since 1989, there has been growing interest in what to teach and how to teach with respect to statistics. It is only in the past few years that appropriate curricula (e.g., Used Numbers Series, 1 Quantitative Literacy Series2) have become available for use at the K-12 levels.
