ABSTRACT
Today we live in a data-driven society and are confronted with data in everything-from work reports to the daily newspaper. Through use of probability and statistics, we can learn to deal with these data in a responsible way and to solve problems based on current and past data. Understanding statistics and probability enables people to reason from and make conclusions based on data, judge the quality of other people's conclusions, recognize the degree of uncertainty in any endeavor, and quantify that uncertainty.
