ABSTRACT
This volume has explored how the educational establishments in various nations understand and attempt to resolve some of the complex and critical multicultural issues that they confront. The various chapters have surveyed such issues as historical developments that have influenced the present cultural landscape of the nation, the experience of minorities within the society at large, the clash between the culture of the school and the culture of the home, indigenous approaches to cultural maintenance and revitalization, and approaches to teacher training.
