ABSTRACT
Hungary lives in a period of reevaluation. There is a massive willingness to push for institutional reform in the midst of a deep economic and political crisis-a crisis brought on by dynamics in Hungary and in the world system. All the participants in and outside the formerly exclusive central policy-making institutions are involved in a transformation of their social and political relations. New strategies are introduced into old political and governmental institutions.
