ABSTRACT
Is ethical management possible, or is this combination of terms an oxymoron? Sufficient doubts have been expressed about the possibility of ethical management, to warrant some response to this question. To attempt an analysis of the influence of ethics on managing for program effectiveness, without first establishing that ethical management is possible, could be an exercise in futility. I would be on uncertain grounds to simply assume that ethical management is possible, and to proceed on such an assumption.
