ABSTRACT

Employee Assistance Programs' (EAPs) main goal is to assist employees with current difficulties which affect their functioning on the job and at home. Sonnenstuhl and Trice define EAPs as "job-based programs operating within a work organization for the purposes of identifying 'troubled employees,' motivating them to resolve their troubles, and providing access to counseling or treatment for those employees who need these services" (1986, p. 1).
