ABSTRACT
To demonstrate the need for a film music bibliography, the author recounts the struggle to identify the composers of four popular film tunes, to locate the scores and to compile a list of related secondary literature. An evaluation of the bibliographical problems encountered in the search, and of a few of the sources consulted.
