ABSTRACT
At the start of the new millennium, the oil industry can examine its proud accomplishments during the twentieth century and take pride in the fact that it has successfully developed new technologies to exploit new and challenging resources cost effectively. As resources become more scarce and difficult to find, one can expect such efforts to develop new technologies to continue in the future.
