ABSTRACT
The newest editions of Ship Sale and Purchase and Time Charters are excellent additions to the Lloyd’s Shipping Law Library. Aimed at both the professional and scholar, these texts provide a thorough examination of the legal and practical considerations involved in ship broking and time charters respectively. Ship Sale and Purchase, first published in 1985, is an essential reference for all parties involved in the sale and purchase of second hand ships. The fourth edition has been updated to reflect industry and legislative changes, as well as providing a more complete commentary. Time Charters, first published in 1978, provides a wealth of information for all parties involved in the chartering and operating of ships. The text is designed primarily as a repository of case law and this purpose has been further facilitated in the fifth edition by use of a new internal referencing system based on paragraph, rather than page, numbers.
