ABSTRACT
Three factors characterized the period from the end of the First World War until 1990: the expansion of socialism in response to capitalism, conflicts among the capitalist industrialized countries, which encouraged this countermovement, and after 1948 coordination among the capitalist industrialized countries, which made dynamic organizational, technical and financial development possible.
