ABSTRACT

The Management Development Programme at Sunderland Business School attracts a wide range of managers from many different types of organisation. They are interested in taking advantage of the opportunities and efficiencies presented by a three-stage programme (leading to Certificate, Diploma and Masters awards) which incorporates distance learning, weekly workshops, work-based and employer-mentor assessed assignments, and a strong and guided encouragement to self-development towards specified managerial competences. These are for: Stage One

social skills and abilities;
