Introduction

Learning contracts have provided practitioners with the means by which students can systematically engage in experience-based learning. Working in partnership with external clients to gain experience of applying specialist skills and knowledge, of testing the dynamics of that experience and to gain a comprehensive understanding of it is a key feature of both the Enterprise in Higher Education initiative and the Higher Education for Capability scheme.
