ABSTRACT
In the last few years there has been a dramatic increase of interest in the lexicon by the research community, publishers, software developers, and industry more generally. 1 People working in the fields of linguistics, computational linguistics, artificial intelligence, psycholinguistics, cognitive science, and information technology are now exploring issues that used to be the sole province of lexicographers and lexicologists. This recognition of the importance of lexical resources can be attributed to a number of converging factors.
