ABSTRACT

Little children show us delightful glimpses of the growth of thinking, feeling, and doing. Unfortunately, they typically give us these glimpses when our tape recorders are turned off, our pencils are neatly in our jars, and our bodies are ready for rest, recreation, or food. Researchers who wish to record the development of children are prodded by the nature of their young subjects to reconsider traditional methodology … with the goal of learning more about kindergartners as writers and readers.
