ABSTRACT

Every day we swim in a sea of stories. In our lives and in our thought patterns stories are pervasive. Our stories make us unique and yet also bind us together as human beings and aid us in identifying and empathising with others. Our 'aspirations, disappointments, joys and fears are rehearsed and replayed in the stories we tell ourselves and the stories we tell others' (Bearne 1994: 86). We hear stories, see stories and feel stories.
