ABSTRACT
Ask any set of teachers how and why they do topic work and you will probably get a different answer from each. Because topic work has become an expected feature of primary classroom life it has been fitted in to classrooms of very different types. These operate from a range of philosophical and pedagogical principles and include an additional variety of practices and believed policies.
