ABSTRACT

Environmental challenges and issues are considered to be worldwide problems. The media report nearly every day some of the complex environmental issues and how human beings live and relate with their ecosystem. The media news tends to cover how forest, water, and soil resources are under stress. Forests are also reported to be disappearing. Human activities all over the world tend to inflict harsh and often irredeemable damage on the environment and on critical natural resources (Kendall, 2012). Human beings are creators of pollution and garbage waste. The earth’s climate is reported to be getting significantly warmer (Kraft and Furlong, 2013). On one hand the environment includes the earth, such as air, atmosphere, soil, water, rock, and all living things. On the other hand, an ecosystem means the things that live and interact in parts of the geophysical environment (Kraft, 2011; Harper, 2008).
