ABSTRACT
What have the following countries in common? China, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, eastern Germany, Kazakhstan, Mozambique, North Korea, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Vietnam. The answer is that they are all communist states, or recently were communist, which are now trying to revitalize their economies, industries and enterprises through restructuring in one form or another. All reached a point of crisis which required drastic action.
