ABSTRACT

The world is witnessing a new era developing in the Middle East. Observers are still unsure about the motives that drive people in a number of countries, including Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria and Yemen, to challenge the governments and demand major reforms. On the political sphere, it seems that the failure of those regimes to address the people's need and/or the existence of corruption, violations of human rights, and social and political injustice, have pushed the people to demand for new forms of governments. As the gap between the rich and poor continued to widen people felt unable to meet their needs and expectations.
