ABSTRACT

Social behaviours, morality and controversial issues can never be removed from education and schooling. Schools have to mirror a changing society struggling with the pace of technological innovation and globalisation. Traditional values are inevitably challenged and found to be out of step with prevailing ideas and actions. Everyday life no longer has a series of moral or ethical certainties which predetermine behaviour and action in response to difficult circumstances; indeed who is to say what difficult issues or circumstances are?
