ABSTRACT

Walter Carlsnaes' contribution to the study of foreign policy is formidable. He has written extensively in the most important journals in the field as well as edited the SAGE Library of International Relations (with Guzzini 2011, a five-volume set) and contributed to Foreign Policy Analysis (Smith et al. 2012). While being famous for his scholarship on the structure-agent problem, he has also worked extensively on EU foreign policy (Carlsnaes 1994, 2004), inter alia as editor of a book where both the undersigned and many other contributors to this Festschrift appeared (Carlsnaes et al. 2004).
