ABSTRACT

Since the publication of the inaugural Handbook on Classroom Management (2006), approximately 26 new scholarly articles have been published on the topic of classroom management in urban education as identified in searches using Education Full Text (H.W. Wilson), ProQuest ERIC, and Google Scholar. Keywords searched in some combination included urban, classroom, and management. In this chapter, I focus mostly on this new scholarship, drawing particular attention to themes that emerged and aspects of the scholarship that need to be addressed in order to move the field of classroom management forward and especially to contribute to urban classroom management.
