ABSTRACT

Time-factors are important aspects for match analysis in tennis. O'Donoghue and Liddle (1998) analysed the length of rallies in men's and women's singles matches in Grand Slam tournaments. Richers (1995) estimated energy systems utilised by elite competitive tennis players during matches through time-motion analysis. Recently, the authors found that inter-shot times were important tactical aspects in tennis matches (Takahashi et al., 2008; 2009).
