ABSTRACT

In the German neo-Nazi magazine Hier & Jetzt, an author associated with the group German Academy (Deutsche Akademie) dealt with the issue of internationalism. In view of increasing globalization he deemed a closer cooperation of nationalist forces an urgent necessity. ‘Such cooperation,’ he went on, ‘has numerous synergetic advantages: exchange of experiences, coordination of joint activities, strategic and theoretical inspiration, financial and material support, as well as facilitating territorial evasion’ (Schwarzenberger 2008: 26). While he remains sceptical of the idea of a ‘Nationalist International’ comparable to the Communist Internationale, he argues in favour of an informal alliance that should nonetheless have a name, a symbol and a body of representatives.
