ABSTRACT
VKR Group is the parent company for a number of well-known construction products, including roof windows Velux, façade window systems Velfac, intelligent control systems Window Master, windcatchers Monodraught and solar collectors Sonnekraft. Globally, the VKR Group employs 15,000 people, of whom roughly a quarter are in Denmark where the company’s headquarters is located. Founded in 1941, the VKR Group has diversified from roof windows to intelligent façades and is today a leader in sustainable technologies. The new headquarters building near Hørsholm north of Copenhagen contains many of these technologies and is in many ways a testbed for their wider application. However, equally importantly, the headquarters building demonstrates the company’s commitment to environmental and social sustainability, and through both it hopes to build a strong basis for economic growth.
