ABSTRACT

The two largest mountains of the North Hungarian Mountain Range are the Mátra and the Bükk. The Bükk and the Mátra regions have become famous not only for active tourism but also for developing special health tourism products. Special health tourism products include climate tourism, herb tourism and spiritual tourism. The origins of all three tourism products can be traced back to the cultures of the ancient East, and the story matrix attached to them has always had an important role in the development of the products. Their special characteristics stem from the fact that they are designed for a well-defined target group who believe in the healing power of the products and their number is rising year by year in North Hungary.
