ABSTRACT
Since independence, both census and national sample surveys collect data on the movement of individuals to examine the volume and structure of such mobility as it has macro-implications on urbanization, urban growth and employment, economic growth for medium and million-plus cities. Moreover, migration has resulted in the building up of adequate infrastructural facilities for the growing urban population.
