ABSTRACT
Sustainable agriculture involves not only identification and application of improved technologies for higher yield but also ecological and socio-economic concerns. In fact, ‘sustainable development is the development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of the future generations to meet their own needs’ (WCED 1987, 8).
