ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on Finnish research and practice into spirituality and education. In this chapter we give an overview of the recent research into spirituality conducted in the last ten years in the educational context. The last decades have been significant in academic and socio-demographic terms with regards to spirituality in Finland. The changes in Finnish academia are discussed in more detail in Section 3. The shift from religiosity to spirituality in Finnish academic research coincides with changes in Finnish population and educational policy toward pluralism in the 21st century.
