ABSTRACT

One of the many consequences of the “great recession” that started in 2008 has been to force businesses to rethink and adapt their strategy to the new conditions.

Among the main problems, which many businesses had to face, we number:

• market size shrinking fast (sometimes by double digits) and becoming more volatile

• customers suddenly having difficult access to credit, and delaying payments • raw materials under pressure, with inflationary conditions.
