ABSTRACT
Rapid developments in Information Technology are forcing enormous change in our work environments. We can think of these environments in terms of the technological infrastructure and the physical surroundings (lighting, acoustics) that support work. Both environments affect comfort and performance; the first case relates primarily to the hardware infrastructure and is arguably simpler to quantify than the second environment that relates to psychosocial aspects of human behavior.
