ABSTRACT
This book shows how subjective orientations to politics – value orientations in particular – have shaped democracy in central and eastern Europe after the fall of communism. It does so by examining the evolving map of democratic and autocratic attitudes among citizens of 13 countries in the region. The analysis draws from a unique set of data collected and processed by the contributors to this book within the World Values Survey and European Values Study projects.
