ABSTRACT
Society devotes enormous effort to the education of children and adults. How to improve that effort via research is an ongoing challenge. Currently, researchers from fields as diverse as mathematics education, science education, computer science, and engineering are combining insights to forge a methodology that sits between the traditional randomized trials and qualitative approaches.
