ABSTRACT

Diversity abounds in each society, which is multicultural by definition. Individuals belonging to a broader societal group are further divided on various attributes, such as gender, ethnicity, class, age, and disability, to name a few. These axes of differentiation cannot be separated into discrete and pure strands, creating complex and varied effects on individual psyche and lived experiences. Brah and Phoenix (2004) emphasize that multiple dimensions of sociocultural diversity intersect in historically specific contexts.
