ABSTRACT

This chapter examines many contentious issues and arenas for thought and dialog about categorizing humans in general, and branding people with the disability moniker in particular. The ideal culmination of profound diversity comfort for us is a post-disability world. It suggests that disability redesign and rebranding must set their sights on refashioning and expanding the scope of human appearance, activity, and experience as typical, and thus normal. Polyphony among contemporary multi-sensory instruments expands accessibility markers to highlight diverse environmental features for all bodies. Consulting history, once again informed this redesign. DaVinci's attempt to image ideal narrative proportionality of human spatial context resulted in a single visual that continues to drive architectural and product standards.
