ABSTRACT

Southern Europe is known for its mild climate and its Mediterranean cuisine. It is also known for “mama's boys” – men that live with their parents up to their early thirties. Indeed, the share of young adults, especially men, living with their parents in Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain – the four “Southern European” (SEU) countries of what used to be the EU15 – has been, during the last few decades, far greater than that of Northern Europe and North America. 1
