ABSTRACT

The Klang Valley is an area in Malaysia comprising Kuala Lumpur and its suburbs and adjoining cities in the state of Selangor. 1 Geographically the area is delineated by the Titiwangsa Mountains to the north and east and the Straits of Malacca to the west. The bowl-like topography of the Klang Valley with Kuala Lumpur at its centre is the heartland of Malaysia’s industry and commerce. While the Klang Valley covers only a small spatial area of Malaysia, its economic activity contributes significantly to the nation’s gross domestic product.
