ABSTRACT

In recent decades the quality of university teaching has aroused extensive interest in higher education (e.g., Trigwell and Prosser 1999; Brennan and Shah 2000; Skelton 2005; Biggs and Tang 2007). In order to improve the quality of teaching in higher education, instructional development courses and workshops have been offered to the faculty at universities. Many universities have developed diverse organisational structures in order to support teachers' pedagogical skills and improve the quality of university teaching.
