ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the historical background, the institutionalization process and the effectiveness of a teacher development course for doctoral students offered by the Curriculum Resource Centre (Crc) at Central European University (Ceu), located in Budapest, Hungary. Ceu is an international graduate university offering programmes primarily in social sciences and humanities. The university, which has recently celebrated its twenty years' anniversary, prides itself on its unique character resulting from U.S. and Hungarian accreditation, a highly internationalized student body, academic excellence resulting from research-intensive profile, and a strong outreach agenda.
